A cross-border collaboration with Hsing Legend Youth Theatre, the youth wing of Contemporary Legend Theatre (Taiwan)

While Nine Years Theatre is committed to cross-border artistic exchanges, the cost of independently-producing a cross-border collaboration is high. Hence, we started a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds, offering complimentary Cat 1 tickets to Immortal Variables, autographed programme booklets, as well as premium tea (Tie Guan Yin Autumn Harvest, worth $69.80) from Pek Sin Choon and red wine (Raymond Usseglio Le Peche Originel Sans Soufre 2020, worth $79) from CornerStone Wines. Synopsis

A kidnapping of the country’s president. A system to predict the future through data analysis. A technology secretly planted to control human minds. An anti-government organisation. A monitored phone call. A plan within a plan.

What is the password? Who is the mole? What are the odds? Who can really control the variables?

Nine Years Theatre joins forces with Hsing Legend Youth Theatre, the youth wing of Contemporary Legend Theatre from Taiwan in this cross-border collaboration, exploring an artistic dialogue between traditional arts and contemporary drama to create this modern sci-fi fable set in the near future.

Performed in Mandarin, with English surtitles, including closed captions for the deaf and hard-of-hearing.
